Follow my narrated tutorial to create a CHOCOLATE CAKE filled with RED WINE. My video shows how to make the cake using a nice dessert wine and how to make it look amazing! The recipes are listed below:

red wine chocolate cake recipe:


2 cups (260g) all purpose flour

2 cups (414g) sugar

3/4 cup (85g) Hershey’s Special Dark Cocoa powder

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 large eggs

1 cup (240ml) buttermilk

1 cup (240ml) vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup (240ml) sweet red wine

-sift all dry ingredients together. Place in mixing bowl and add wet ingredient one at a time, mixing between each addition. Bake about 30 minutes at 300 degrees or till tests done.

red wine buttercream icing recipe:

1 cup red wine

2 sticks butter, softened

3 cups confectioner’s sugar

Whip the butter till creamy, add the powdered sugar, then slowly add the wine. You may need to add more powdered sugar to get desired consistency. You can't mess this up. It's more or a "to taste" recipe than follow the ingredients exactly recipe.

I used a red wine ganache for filling - here is the recipe if you want to use it:

1 cup heavy cream

2 ½ cups dark chocolate chopped

3 tbsp red wine

In a small sauce pot, heat heavy cream over medium heat until steaming. Remove from heat and add 2 ½ cups chopped dark chocolate. Let sit for 10 minutes, then whisk until smooth. Add 3 tbsp red wine and whisk until smooth again. The longer you let your finished ganache sit, the thicker it will be. Let sit till icing consistency, then fill cake.
